Holiday Barbie 2009 - Happy Dolliday Countdown to Christmas!

Hey everyone!  In this first post of the day, we're taking a look at the Holiday Barbie from 2009.  She's special because the doll also celebrates the 50th year anniversary fo Barbie's creation!

Here is my video review where I gush and go on about her lol.

The African American version is even more beautiful in my opinion, but she was a lot harder to find.

She has the Mbili face sculpt and I think she's incredible!

Here she is in all her glory.  She is pink, rose gold and fabulous.  I love the different layers of tulle and the pink satin material underneath.

I love the design of her bodice!

Drooling over these gorgeous rhinestones...

Her pink shoes are really cute.

This is what the back of her dress looks like.  That's a big bow!

Best earrings so far!  They are so beautiful!

She has painted pink nails.

The year's Barbie also has the Mackie face sculpt, but her makeup really brings it to a new level.  At first, I didn't fall in love with her face as much as I did with some of the others, but after reviewing and photographing her, she really grew on me.

Now that's a smokey eye.

As you can see, one of the tiny beads on the bottom of her right (to us) earring fell off when I unboxed her, but I was able to glue it back on after I was done reviewing her.

I could not hide my enthusiasm in my video over how much I love this doll.  Her face isn't my all time favorite, but as a packaged deal, she is so beautiful! I love her light blond hair, rose gold color scheme and design of her dress.  She is a beautiful holiday tribute to the 50th anniversary of Barbie!

  1. Hi Farrah! I do agree, the Mbili one is prettier, but this one is still beautiful. Even pink isn't my favorite color, I do like that they used it for Barbie's 50th anniversary, as it is her signature color. Also, who says that Christmas has to be just green, red and gold?

I haven't managed to read and comment all of your posts, but I did read about your foot surgery. I hope you're feeling better now and I hope you are fully recovered soon. On the bright side, now you get to stay at home and play with dolls.

    1. Thank you so much! I'm about a week from surgery now and getting around a bit better. I'll still have to be on crutches for about 5 more weeks, but I started using a "knee walker" which allows me to be somewhat hands free. :) I'm still having some pain and swelling so I have to make myself lay on the couch to ice it and elevate several times during the day, but to be honest, it's so nice to have a break from work and be able to have doll time and catch up on reading, TV shows and movies!

  2. I love how this one is pink (delicate shades too)! The rhinestones and earrings are amazing and the style of makeup, especially eyebrows, is my favourite.
