Our Vacation in the Adirondacks (July love)

Hi guys, I'm so behind in my posts, that I hope you're forgive me! I still love doing my monthly round ups as it's a way for me to document my own family's little adventures and memories.  Today's post is just a quickie of our week-long vacation to our usual spot in the Adirondack Mountains called Long Lake, NY.

Saying goodbye to Daddy for the week (he was unable to take off this particular week as his job is very busy in the summer.)

We brought Henrich along who is my new favorite.  He's an 80's Hot Rockin' Fun Ken and he just makes me laugh. Love his get-up!

He was able to relax for a few minutes until the girls found him. :) 

So we had a great week.  The girls are 4 and 7 now and things are so much easier than they used to be when they were babies.  My cousins also go and their kids pretty much take care of mine so it's a win situation for me! :)

My sister and her finacee decided to do a few nights of camping at a nearby state park called Lake Eaton instead of staying at the Motel Long Lake with the rest of us.  This particular day that we went to visit them was totally gorgeous!

The water is really shallow and warm so we had a blast!  

At night the whole beach glows red because of the large sign that spells out "MOTEL" that you can see from across the lake.  It's so retro, I love it.

This was the cabin that the girls and I stayed in.  This was the first year that my mom didn't stay in the same cabin with us.  (She was in the one right next door with my aunt.) I'm sure she appreciated having her own space! :)

This is looking across one part of the lake towards the Adirondack Hotel.  Farther to the right is the Town Beach and then a bridge/waterway that takes you to the left part of the lake.  The lake stretches even farther to the right quite a few miles down.  I think it's about 14 miles long in total! "Long Lake", lol.

Each night we sat on the screened in porch after the girls went to bed and chatted and caught up with cousins, aunts, uncles and family that we only see a few times a year.

Most days were just spent relaxing on the beach doing nothing.  :) 

Earlier in the week, we had our annual "ladies night" at the Owl's Head Pub, and this year we gave my sister a fun little bachelorette party!  So many good laughs!

The weather stayed beautiful and perfect thoughout the week. The girls had a blast swimming, exploring, climbing and being with all the other cousins.

Looks like Daddy showed up on the beach on the last day! (Clothing optional?) 

As sad as it is to leave and say good bye to everyone, I am so thankful that I have this to come back home to.  :)

Just a quick Hello and some Updates :)

Hey everyone!
I hope you're all doing well and having a great rest of your summer (or winter, wherever you are!)
I just wanted to pop in real quickly and say hi.  I've gotten a bit behind on blogging this summer because, as it turns out, my computer completely ran out of space to upload any more photos!
I've spent the month of August backing up thousands of photos (probably more like hundreds, but it feels like thousands, lol) to Flickr and trying to figure out a good storage system for all of the video I've taken since the girls were born.
And it's a lot!

So I forced myself to undergo this project to get my photos and videos all backed up in case anything ever happened to my computer and I lost them all.
The end is in sight and I've been considering using the M-disc system, so hoping to get a driver and the discs soon, which will allow me to get a lot of photos and videos off the computer so I have more room to start fresh.

I've also been pretty busy with helping my sister plan for her wedding next month and just taking time to enjoy the beautiful weather.

I've collected some really fun new dolls these past two months, which I'm so excited to do reviews on once I am all sorted out.

We also had a great vacation in Long Lake again this year, which I'm current editing through the photos for, which should be ready for a post soon.

More about this guy later. :)

June Strawberries and Birthdays

Pumpkin Pie is a HUGE Star Wars fan. :) 

Hi everyone!  It's been a while, I must say...summer is keeping us all busy (as usual), but it's been a great summer so far and filled with HOT sunny days.  I am in hog heaven. :)
This June started out a little on the chilly side, but soon warmed up to my much loved, glorious balmy sunshine.
We celebrated Pumpkin Pie's 7th birthday with a trip to our local indoor trampoline gym, then to Build-A-Bear and then to her favorite restaurant, the Chinese Buffet. :)
It's so hard to believe she's 7 already!

Those blue mountains in the distance are the Catskill Mountains. 

I've been walking a lot this summer (anywhere from 2-4 miles per day) and I feel so lucky to live in a place that has a lot of beautiful scenery to look at.
Here's a look at what I see on one of my daily walks during my lunch break....

So gorgeous!!  I love living here.  I have a hard time at the end of winter, but most of the time it's a great place to be. It's funny to think that that I didn't realize the beauty of this place and the quaintness of this town until I moved back.  I miss the conveniences of a city/suburb, but would rather live in the country any day. :)

June also started the "strawberry picking season" for us and we visited a local fruit farm to pick our delicious berries.  This was the first season that Little Button really got the hang of it.

Flowers are everywhere!  I am not good with flowers and just don't have the time or extra finances (becuase I spend it all on dolls, haha) to make or keep up with a good flower garden so these photos were taken at my aunt's house up the street.

I love the smell of fresh thyme! 

The end of the month marked Little Button's 4th birthday and on her day we went to see "Finding Dory" at the movies and then Chuck-E-Cheese for lunch.  I'm not sure if CEC is just a Northeast thing or not, but that place has changed a lot since I was a kid! (Not as fun, but the girls had a blast.)

She is at such a cute age...so appreciative of everything.
Overall, June was a lovely month.  July is almost halfway over already...it's like SLOW DOWN summer!
I have been pretty quiet with doll blogging as I'm just not finding the time for it at the moment, but hoping to get more posts up soon.  I have been saving for our vacation coming up in a few weeks so not so much on the doll buying front either!
I have seen some of the new Monster High reboots as well as the budget reboot of some EAH dolls and I can say I'm not too interested as of now.  It's not that I mind their faces, it's just that their outfits and accessories aren't really up to the standard of the older ones.
There are many other dolls out there that I have my eyes on anyway! :)
