Happy Holiday Barbie 1988- Happy Dolliday Countdown to Christmas!

Hi everyone!  Merry Christmas Eve!

In my final post in this Dolliday Series, we're taking a look at the Barbie that started the whole Happy Holiday line, Happy Holiday Barbie from 1988.

Here is my video review and I also ranked my top 20 favorite Holiday Barbies!

Unfortunately, they did not come out with an African American version of her, only the blonde Caucasian one.  Here's a beautiful promo photo of her in her gorgeous dress!

She had a red and silver theme with little holly berries to complete the look.  Her dress is made of red, ruffly tulle sprinkled with silver glitter and she has a silver bow on her dress and in her hair.

The bodice is fairly simple and made of a soft red fabric.

She comes with a silver ring, silver earrings and a little necklace in the shape of a bow.

She has the Superstar face mold and very bold blue eyeshadow.  The 80s are back!

Overall, she's a gorgeous and festive Holiday doll and was widely popular when she first debuted.  This line would continue for 33 more years and although the name has changed slightly, the holiday Barbie line was something collectors looked forward to each year.

I hope you enjoyed this series where we looked at each Holiday Barbie and I hope you have an absolutely wonderful Christmas!

Thank you so much for reading and see you soon!

Happy Holiday Barbie 1989- Happy Dolliday Countdown to Christmas!

Hi everyone!  It's hard for me to believe that there are only 2 more days until Christmas.  These season absolutely flew by for me!  Today's review is dedicated to the lovely Happy Holiday Barbie of 1989.  We've officially hit the 80s!

This year, unfortunately, they only released the Caucasian version of this doll.
Here's another stunning promo photo and the photo they used for the back of her box.
Look at that snow on the window panes!

Here she is in her full snowy white glory.  She has a lovely full gown in a satin(ish) shimmery material, faux fur and sparkling tulle.  She has small accents of red in her accessories and hair.

She comes with a red ring, earrings and a necklace.

She has the cute Superstar face mold as all of them have had since the 1997 Barbie.  I think she's so adorable!

She's a beautiful Holiday Barbie with a gorgeous shimmery white theme and I love her accents of red and snowflakes.  I'm sure when she came out in 1989, people loved her!  I need to ask my parents why they never got me her, I honestly don't even remember these Barbies at all back then!

Only 1 more doll to go.  I hope you're all have a very Merry Christmas Eve Eve!

Happy Holiday Barbie 1990 - Happy Dolliday Countdown to Christmas!

Hi everyone, tonights post features the hot pink sensation that was Happy Holidays Barbie from 1990. She was the 3rd doll in this Happy Holiday line.  She's a fan favorite for sure and also marks the first year they introduced the African American version of the Happy Holiday Barbie as well!

Here's a look at the African American version and she has the Christie face mold.  Again, I just LOVE the little scenes they used to create for the promo photos!

Sorry for the blurry photo, but here's a look at her in her full dress! Her dress consists of layers of pink ruffled tulle with a star and dot design.  My doll's dress is very faded and has lost a lot of her original sparkle, unforunately, but the fabric itself is still really nice.

She comes with a green ring, green earrings, a green necklace (not pictured) and a silver and pink hair accessory.

She has the beautiful Superstar face mold with blue eyes and blue eyeshadow.
Her hair is a fluffy, light blonde color and she's only of the only ones with bangs.
Unfortunately, mine has a little scuff on her nose as well.

Overall, she's such a pink, luscious treat and I was so happy the day I found her at the flea market!  I would like to get another one "in box" to keep for my collection so I can upgrade her dress and have her shoes and cute poster that comes in the original box.

We are nearing the end of this series!  I hope you're all having a wonderful week.  Pumpkin Pie (who's now 12!) unfortunately tested positive for COVID a few days ago, so we will all be in quarantine for Christmas.  Luckily, Little Button, me and my husband aren't having any symptoms yet, so hopefully we will get through it ok!

Happy Holiday Barbie 1991- Happy Dolliday Countdown to Christmas!

In our last post today, we're looking at the 1991 forest green, velvet beauty Happy Holiday Barbie from 1991!

Here's the African American version with the Christie face mold.  Her dress looks like it has sparkles on it!

So this one seems more elegant than a few of the previous ones we just did.  Her gown is simple, yet beautiful and the glittery bodice really shines in the light.

She has puffy shoulders and her bodice is decorated with silver, red and green sequins.

She has red and silver beaded earrings, a matching necklace, a silver ring, a matching purse and a cute bow.

She has bright red shoes and a red brush and also comes with a keepsake poster!

She has the lovable Superstar face mold with bright green eyes and green eyeshadow.

She is another stunning addition to the Happy Holiday line. She looks so cozy in her soft, green gown and I love the pop of red and silver that complete this look.

Do any of you have any of these early Holiday dolls?

xoxo Farrah

Happy Holiday Barbie 1992- Happy Dolliday Countdown to Christmas!

We are down to the last five Barbies in our countdown to Christmas!  I honestly can't believe I have posted this much this month, lol.  It's really only because I had foot surgery and am off of work until after Christmas as I never would've been able to do this otherwise!

Today, we're looking at silver and crystal beauty, which is Happy Holiday Barbie 1992.

Here's the African American version with the Christie face mold posed in a beautiful photo.

This doll completely embodies the early 90s in my opinin.  Her dress and hair are huge, she has holographic sequins and she's just amazing!  Her skirt is metallic silver with large tulle ruffles and she has big shoulder pads with decorative silver and crystal beads.

She has beaded earrings and a silver ring as well as silver hair accessory.

She comes with pearly white heels and a brush.

She also comes with this awesome poster! I absolutely love these little dioramas they used to set up for their promo photos. :)

She has the Superstar face mold and a twinkle in her eyes. :)

Overall, she's one of my favorites.  I love her crystal and silver theme with the rainbow effect she gives off in the light.  I love her hair and her face and everything about her.  Happy Holiday 1992 Barbie reflects the fun that Barbie was in the early 90s.  She's a gem!
