A Liv Frozen Halloween

Hello lovely folks out there who are kind and sweet enough to check out the blog today :)  

This post was originally going to be a review of my two Liv dolls that I've had in my collection for a little while, but I decided to spice things up and do a little photo story.  I've seen these little photo stories everywhere and really enjoyed them so I wanted to give it a go.  I adore Liv dolls, they are really fun to photograph and dress up.  And OF COURSE, I love my Frozen gals (espcially Anna-she's charmingly awkward and clutsy, just like me!)

Hi, guys!  Welcome to the blog:)  We decided to step in today because Farrah has been a little slack with the doll posts lately.  Here's a little story about how we like to get down with Halloween. 

We're big on wigs, Hayden and me.  Off they go!

This picture is scoring pretty high on the creep-o-meter...nothing like random hair sitting on a table. No head, no reason, no worries.

After we're done petting these random bunnies we found, I guess we could try on each other's hair because that would be really, really fun.  So much fun!

Oh wow, Hayden..I LOVE being a blonde..why didn't I do this sooner? Let's go see if blondes really do have more fun....

Get a grip, Katie.  Hmmm, it just doesn't seem like ENOUGH for Halloween...what else could we do to spice things up? 

(.....crickets, crickets....)

I've got it, Hayden!  Let's stop being lame and get real costumes!  Let me make a phone call to see if the other girls can come over...

 Do you guys know what we're going to do? 

Yeah, we switched our hair back, but that's not it....

All the sudden there were clothes everywhere.

Uh, hey guys...I hope you don't mind, I helped myself!  I want to dress up like a normal non-princess, outdoorsy girl for Halloween. :) 

Yeah, me too, Anna!  Wow, these clothes are so comfortable!  It's so nice to get out of that blue dress!

I totally get to be Elsa...sorry, Katie!  (snicker, snicker)

Pumpkins and Jack-o-lanterns

The person that came up with carving faces out of a big orange squash was brillant. 

It's such a funny thing we do when you think about it...

The girls were very much into pumpkin carving this Halloween.  Pumpkin Pie had her pumpkin face all planned out.  She had it carefully considered and sketched out on her paper before she got to work transcribing it to her pumpkin.  This was a big deal this year. ;}

Little Button could've cared less about her pumpkin, but she did enjoy playing with the seeds, stirring them up and squishing them around in her hands...messy, slimy and fun.

Grayscale Flapper and a Halloween party

I'm going to skip around a little bit and do a Halloween post!  This weekend we had our first ever Halloween party.  It was pretty small and mostly just family, but we had a blast decorating, making food and dressing up.  I haven't properly dressed up for Halloween in years!

I have gone back and forth as to whether I wanted to "show my face" on this blog, but I guess it's time I should.  (Even though I don't really look like my real self here, lol...)  I'm a bit shy, so I hadn't really planned on revealing my identity, but I really liked how my costume turned out so here I am!

This is me!  Hello and nice to meet you! 

Yes, I am a real person and not really a 1980's Hawaiian Barbie ;) 

This year I decided to dress up as a 1920's silent movie star/flapper.
I had seen a post recently of this couple that dressed up as silent movie stars and it just looked so amazing in the photos that I knew I had to try it!

Here's J dressed as the "Headless Horseman" ...I could not stop laughing every time he walked into the room :}  Amazing...

We had a great time transforming the house into a spooky treat to walk through.  In this particular room we  had black lights and REALLY creepy music playing...the girls were pretty freaked out and wouldn't go in here at first, but by the end of the night, they loved it.  (Delusion from all the sugar and dancing!)

My sister and me...she dressed up like Arwen from The Lord of the Rings...she looked so good!

I'm exhausted, Grammy, put me to bed!  Mommy is too busy having fun! 

My mother was Glinda the Good Witch of the North.  Little Button was in awe....

I'm up way past my bedtime!

We had such a great time!   My grandparents used to throw the BEST Halloween parties back in the day and everyone in our family was just so happy to be back in this space again, dressing up and eating tons of food and dancing to "Thriller."  

It was nice to bring the Farm back to life. 

Next year, you're all invited! ;)

Halloween is one of those perfect nostalgic holidays for me that really transforms me back into my childhood.  It was so great to celebrate!
