Care Bear Blind Bags Series 4

One of the blind bags series that I currently love to collect are these adorable Care Bears, which are from a cartoon series I used to love as a child.  

These can usually be found at Target, Walmart and Toys 'R' Us and retail for just under $3.00. 

They are currently on Series 4 of this line and this is the first line that features the Care Bears as well as the Care Bear Cousins, which are a group of colorful, caring woodland creatures of different animals species that are directly related to the bears. The live in a different place then the regular Care Bears called The Forest of Feelings.

Looks pretty nice there. 

The Care Bears in general, have had a few different come-backs over the years, but recently the Cousins finally got some attention in the new Care Bears cartoon series on Netflix.

It seems as though only 4 of the Cousins made it onto the show, which is disappointing as there were so many other cute characters I used to love. 

It's funny how there are so many bears, but only one each of the other animals.  

I love the 80s when it comes to stuff like that. We never questioned it as kids, of course. 

I put together a detailed review of each figure for any of you Care Bear fans out there as well as the codes assigned to each on on the back of the packaging if any of you are interested in collecting these cuties.

Below are some photos of each one that we got!

Brave Heart Lion

He is the assumed leader of the Care Bear Cousins with a loud and boisterous personality.  

His belly badge can give anyone courage and confidence to believe in themselves. 

He's a total lovey and loyal Leo. 

Lotsa Heart Elephant 

Back in the 80s, this character was male, but in the newer series, she's now a female. 

Her belly badge can basically just force a whole lotta love into someone if needed, especially if they are kind of being a jerk.   

She can also apparently help plants grow, according to Care Bear Wiki. 

Despite being the strongest cousin, she's actually the most uncoordinated.  

She's totally adorable!!

Cozy Heart Penguin

She is the smallest of the cousins and she is very warm and cuddly.
Her belly badge power can make anyone feel loved and cozy.  Perfect for this blog!
One way that she has really changed from the 80s is that she no longer speaks, and instead she communicates in animal noises which the other cousins interpret.  (Lol, weird.)

Bright Heart Raccoon

He is obviously the brains of the operation and his belly badge helps people receive innovative thoughts and ideas.  It also serves as a built in flashlight, when needed. #handy

I think the actor that voices this character on the Netflix cartoon, Ryan Wiesbrock, does such a great job of making this little guy so adorable.

The remaining figures we got were all Care Bears in their original solid coloring. (Unlike some lines that feature them in a glitter or pearlized finish.)

Perfect Instagram pic for Valentine's Day.

As I was playing with these figures, I decided to have a full-on photo shoot which you can see below.  I just couldn't stop as they are so adorable! 

I broke them all out. 

Of course I had to arrange them by pose. 

And then I had to group them by color, lol. 

Overall, these have been so much fun for me to collect as they have such a nostaglic place in my heart.  

I loved these bears and characters growing up so much and it's such a joy to share them with my daughters as they love them as well.

We have even more snow coming our way so I'm hoping for a good "sleep-in" as well as getting some stuff done around the house.

Rainbow Brite Itty Bittys-Hallmark

Growing up, I loved the 80s cartoon called Rainbow Brite.  If you weren't a child in the 80s, you may not appreciate this post as much as others due to the nostalgia of this cartoon!

Back in the 80s, Hallmark released a number of 12-inch and 18-inch dolls from this cartoon, followed by a few more releases throughout the years.  After I grew up, Rainbow Brite, sort of fell off the radar and I wasn't even aware of the relaunched dolls they did in 1996, 2003 and 2009.

Well, now that I have kids and I am launched back into the toy and doll world, they are back on the radar! 

You may imagine my surprise, when I walked into Hallmark at the mall to see Rainbow Brite Itty Bittys staring me in the face.
I had been aware of Itty Bittys prior when my husband bought a tiny Rapunzel for Pumpkin Pie's birthday, but didn't pay much attention to them at the time.
Well, since they now come in the form of my favorite 80s cartoon, I have a new appreciation for them!

They have still to release the Color Kids called Shy Violet, Canary Yellow and Lala Orange as well as Spark Sprite (the yellow one).  There are a few other characters that have been on the show, which I hope they release eventually as well (Baby Brite, Moonglow, Stormy, etc).

I have heard that Shy Violet will be released in June as an online exclusive via the Hallmark website, though, so I am excited for her!

Overall, they are a nice quality little plushie.  Although possibly a little overpriced at $6.95 a piece, I love them and am happy to have them in my very small (but growing) Rainbow Brite collection.
I think the nostalgic feeling is well worth it. :)

In-store Report October!

Hi everyone!  I hope your week has been going well.  These days I only make it to our local Target about once a month, because I have found that I tend to go a bit overboard in my shopping when I am there.  I could spend so much money as I love all of their home decor, clothes, decorations, etc. This month I was good and only bought one item on my toy hunt (from Target).  

I ended up also getting a few couch cushions and storage bins I had my eye on as well as some Halloween decorations that I thought were cute. 

No more Target until November!  ;) 

Here are the new dolls I spotted this month: 

Jaaks Pacific Fawn.  

I actually think she's really cute!  I love her dress and I think she's the most pleasant of all the Disney Fairies I've seen to date.

These Rapunzel dolls seem to have a new face mold.  The above is the cheaper one with a molded on bodice and the below one is one with a removal dress.
Her face shape comes the closest to what I feel her animated character looks like.

Frozen Fever in the hiz-ouse. 

Their faces do nothing for me, but I think the dresses are really nice. 

Now this was really cute!  It's a Frozen Musial Jewelry box and I love how they portrayed little Elsa and Anna.  I would actually consider getting this for Little Button for Christmas to keep all of her "jewels" in. :)

Any Star Wars fans out there?  I AM!  I am not into the "Bop It" game but this mini version of R2D2 is really cool and I would get it just to hear the real sounds!
By the way, have you guys seen the new trailer for the movie?  It looks so good!

Tween Scene Dolls

The new Tween Scene dolls are really cute.  These ones are Valencia, Kimani and Lena.  Emily from The Toybox Philosopher did a great review on them here!

  Looks like Chuck and the gang are making a come back! This collector's figure set is really adorable and they did a great job capturing the personality of each character.  I'd be interested to see if this would actually appeal to kids or not.  I know people my age and older might appreciate it more due to its nostalgic essence, but I can't imagine a kid necessarily just picking this out.  Although, most kids probably do watch the Charlie Brown specials that are on each holiday season so maybe I am wrong. :)

 I love that little Woodstock. :) 

Target also had this display of "retro" toys that I was excited to see.

We also had this Etch-A-Sketch, although I could really only make "stairs" lol. 

I remember having a Raggedy Ann and Andy (that were homemade by my mom's friend) growing up. So classic!

These would be fun to get again! 

Our Generation also had a few new faces.  I love their African American face molds. 

This one is so cute, but her eyes look a little crazy.  Her name is Nahla and I love her face, hair and dress.  She comes with a little garden set.

Abrianna is sweet as well. 

I think her name might be Willow, but I can't remember.

PS...they finally have the OG mini dolls on the Target website!!!

As for Babs and the gang... there were a few new ones I hadn't seen before. 

Cute dress, but why can't they make her knees bend?  I've always loved Teresa. 

 Horrible bangs, but I love the lipstick! 

I love this one's dress.  She looks like Marcia Brady.  I really had to laugh at the dog's positioning in the box.  I don't think this dog poops either, which is a plus!  Just strollin'. 

Below are some new Fashionistas I saw:

She's so cute and I love her bold brows.  This year's Barbie face mold is so pretty. 

Gorgeous, but I think they could've done a better paint job on her lips! 

Anything that includes a cat wearing glasses is good in my book. 

Meh...this one does nothing for me, but I really appreciate all of these different face molds!

And finally, my favorite...Red Ruffles...

Look at those cozy winter sweaters.  I don't have a Skipper or Stacie yet, so I may end up getting this for myself this year. :)
