Happy Holiday Barbie 1997 - Happy Dolliday Countdown to Christmas!

Today we're also taking a look at the Happy Holidays Barbie from 1997.  She is the first one that I have in brunette form since the 2020 doll!  She doesn't seem to be too popular with collectors, but once I got her out of the box, I couldn't believe how stunning she was! 

This year, they came out with the African American version, who I believe has the Christie face mold and the blonde version with the Superstar face mold.  The blonde Barbie, was actually an exclusive, members only doll for people that were in The Official Barbie Collector's Club, so she's a bit pricier on the secondary market. 

 

 

There was an interesting box design error that happened with this brunette version when she was first released. 

The doll herself comes with green eyes, but initially, Mattel screwed up and put a brunette with BLUE eyes on the back of the box. 

My box has the normal, green-eyed doll, but if you ever find one with the blue eyes on the back, she's a collector's item! :)

So out of the box, I think she's stunning!!  

She's very angelic looking and the shoulder section of her dress reminds me of angel wings. I love the red, cream and gold color scheme and the beautiful way they added those panels of ribbon to look like a Christmas gift. 

She comes with gold and ruby earrings and a necklace that look like little Christmas trees. 

She also comes with a red brush and red shoes. 

She has a matching tiara and the Superstar face mold. 

Overall, I just love her.  She looks even more stunning out of the box and looks so pretty on my shelf reflecting the Christmas lights.  Such a lovely addition to this Happy Holidays line!
