Happy Holiday Barbie 1998 - Happy Dolliday Countdown to Christmas!

Hi everyone!

In today's post, we're taking a look at the Happy Holiday Barbie from 1998.  This was the final doll in an 11 doll series with the official name of "Happy Holiday Barbie" that started with the first doll in 1988.

They also had the African American doll with the Nichelle face mold.

This Barbie feature non-traditional holiday colors in hot pink and black/silver. The dress is made in black velvet with lines of glittery silver with a hatched patter on the waistline and sleeves.  She's wearing a large hot pink stole that can be detached and tucked under her shoulders for a softer look.

She's wearing a black velvet headband with silver glitter and beads.

She comes with black high heels and a hot pink brush. (Her stand is hot pink, too!)

This is the first holiday doll to feature the Mackie face mold!

Overall, she's a beautiful addition to the Happy Holiday line and I LOVE her dress on her own.  I should've taken a photo of her without her stole on because it looks so elegant.  I also love that she has an updo, which we never see in the recent dolls.
I think she's special because she marks the completion of the original Happy Holiday line, and as we go further backwards, we will see bigger dresses, bigger hair and more nostalgic faces!

  1. This dress is one of my favourites, but the velvet and glitter combo looks like dusting hell. Would have been even better and easier to clean with rhinestones instead.

    1. Absolutely! I would've loved rhinestones instead at well, looks pretty but, probably not practical!
