One of the best parts of my trip to NYC this past month was getting to browse around the American Girl store.
I have been here twice before, but both times were with non-doll collectors, so I felt like I really didn't get to "look around" as much as I wanted because there were so many other things to do and a limited amount of time.
Well, this time, I had the luxury of a morning to myself, so I could spend as much time as I wanted looking at everything!
Here is the festively decorated store front. It was so beautiful in person!
Front and center were these two. I hadn't given the Nutcracker outfits much thought when they first debuted, but in person were are so nice! If they had ever gone on sale, I would've gotten them, but sadly, I believe they are somewhat of a limited edition item as they are no longer on the website. Oh well, I'm glad I at least have this photo for the memories, lol.
Here is the window display from inside. Just as pretty!
Here is another gorgeous holiday limited edition doll. There were only a handful made I believe, but looks like someone bought her for the hefty price of $5000. (Not me!)
Truly Me #41 (new eyes, ugh!)
Truly Me #61 (old eyes, yay!)
This was the first time I was able to really look at the 2019 GOTY Blaire and her collection.
I think this restaurant/kitchen set is awesome! I wouldn't have anywhere to put it, so it's not an option for me, but I've seen some BEAUTIFUL photos on Instagram of collectors who have this piece. It really does look fun to photograph.
As for Blaire, herself, I just never felt compelled to get her. Maybe it's because she came out when all of the drama around the crappy new eyes and lower quality was running rampant, and I just never really bonded with her looks or theme, but I already have TRU 61 who I love and she looks pretty similar so she can be my stand in "Blaire". :)
Look at this gorgeous tree below!
Here's another cute outfit modeled by the "Tenney look-alike" TRU #24.
This outfit is adorable! I love the earmuffs and pants. I'm hoping it goes on sale at some point.
This was also the first time I was really able to look at all the different TRU dolls they have. There are so many!
For this blonde crew, I really like #23 and #53 (top row left and center).
For this row, I like #78 (top row, middle)
My newest doll (as mentioned previously) is #61 (bottom middle) and I think that's the only one in this group that I would get.
For this group, #82 (bottom right) is a YES for me...she's so pretty! I don't have Josefina, so she would make a good substitute for her as well. :)
I also think the middle boy is the cutest of all the boys.
No one in this group really catches my eye...
For this group, I would also love to get #65 (top left). She looks so similar to the one next to her, but I still love her!
My favorite here is #69 (bottom left), but that Jess mold above her is cute too!
I would pass on these ones also and we already have #64 (bottom left).
For this crew below, I like #80 (top middle) and #67 (bottom right).
I never would've noticed #78 in her meet outfit as being a doll that would catch my attention, but dressed up in the Clara dress, she's adorable!
#69 is another adorable one I never knew I liked until I saw her in person. :)
Anyway, that's a lot of dolls I will probably never get, but it's always fun to make a list!
Now, moving on to the Wellie Wishers!
They are 14 inch slim dolls that took the place of the Bitty Twins.
Ashlyn is adorable and she's one that I don't have yet.
Willa is another cute one we don't have. I love her hair color and golden eyes.
Kendall is a cutie and this one we DO have. :)
We also have Emerson and Camille. :)
So there you have it! That's my first round of photos from the AG store. In my next post, I'll share my photos and thoughts of the Historical characters (my first true AG love, lol).
I would love to know if any of you have any of the Truly Me dolls, GOTY or Wellie Wishers?
Thanks as always for stopping by and see you in the next post!
xoxo
Farrah

Thank you so much Marilyn. :)
DeleteThanks for taking us on this tour with you. I have been to the AG outlet store but it is tiny and doesn't have the latest things. The prices are great though.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, I only have Addy. I have other 18 inch dolls but only one AG.
Hi Dorothy, thanks for your comment! I'm curious to know what other dolls you enjoy collecting?
