Today we're taking a look at the Holiday Barbie from 2017.
So this one is a beauty. She's sophisticated and elegant with a gorgeous face and dress.
I'm not totally loving the metal (plastic) star, but I love the rest of her!
I mean, the star is kind of cool, and I like that it's removable, but I think I like her without it a bit better.
I wish I could wear this dress on Christmas. :)
This is one of the prettiest Closed Mouth Millie sculpts I've ever seen and she reminds me a lot of the Grace Kelly Barbies.
Holiday Barbie 2017 is a stunning beauty for sure! She may not be as glamorous or over the top as the ones before her, but she's elegant and lovely with a hint of old Hollywood glam. :)
Do any of you have her in your collection?

The dress is amazing! I'm not a fan of big tacky plastic things either, but the fact that it's removable makes the set very appealing for the holidays season. You could use the star by itself or with the doll for seasonal decoration and leave it off for the rest of the year.a
ReplyDeleteYes, so true! I really like that it's removable and to be honest, it doesn't really look bad when she's posed on the shelf with the other dolls. It kind of balances out the other ones more elaborate dresses. :)
DeleteYes, she looks much better without the star! I do have the series of all three of these!
ReplyDeleteThat's great! It's so nice to hear from you, Phyllis! :)
DeleteFirst I thought that the star was like a decoration or a prop you had, nothing attached to the doll. It is a beautiful star, but I do not like it as a part of her outfit. She looks so beautiful in the last photo and her dress is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you! And yes, it was a strange design choice. I don't know why they did it as I doubt a "real person" would wear such a large star like that to a holiday gala. It almost seems like a costume or something. Good thing the doll herself is so pretty!
