Lalaloopsy Tinies

These things are adorable.  And cheap.  They are the Lalaloopsy Tinies!
When the full-sized Lalaloopsies first came out onto the toy market, I thought they were creepy and I wasn't really too interested in them at all.

Those button eyes just weren't working for me.  ;)

But since then, they have really started to grow on me, and while I still probably will never purchase a regular sized doll (due to their size) I really like the Littles, the Minis, the Ponies, and the Tinies.

I mean, just look at this little tiny mermaid! :)
I have always loved mermaids...

Lalaloopsy Tinies come in either packs of 3, 5 or 10.  I think there is an 18 pack as well at Target.
I chose this group because my daughters both really love mermaids and pirates.
And so do I.

This 3 pk was only about $3.99 at my local Walmart.

This pack is called "Series 1" and comes with 2 dolls and 1 pet.
The packaging is a bit excessive, but I like the round shape and colors.
(I am pretty easy to please.)

The back just has pictures of the little houses you can buy for them.  Clever advertising, as usual.

Also included is a pullout sheet of all other tiny characters in this line.
They are really unique looking and tempting to collect.
It even has a little box to make a check mark for each doll you have in your collection.

Who doesn't love checking things off??

This little mermaid gal is cute and colorful. She is made out of hard plastic.
There is no articulation at all. She actually has quite of bit of detail in her face.
Her hair has little coils and grooves and she has tiny scales, which I thought was a nice touch.

This spunky pirate  was probably my favorite.  Look at her little heart shaped eye-patch!
She stands up perfectly.
Unfortunately the other two..not so much.
There is even little stitching detail on her cheeks and eye patch, which is such a great touch for a doll this small.

Here is a size comparison to Pumpkin Pie's Mini (Sew Cute Patient, Stumbles, Bumps 'n' Bruises)

They make perfect Lalaloopsy dolls for my Sparkle Girlz Toddler Fariy :)

Of course, I had to take them outside.

During one of my lunch breaks from work, Little Button and I walked down to the creek and played "Pirates and Mermaids."  (Made-up game-no official rules :})

Ahoy!
You knew that was coming.

"...I wanna be, where the people are..."

 ...this guy...

Little Button was just squealing with delight over these little dolls.
I don't know what it is about tiny little things, but both my daughters love to hoard them, put them in little spots around the house, pack them up into little boxes, purses, etc.
They just love tiny little toys and they always remember exactly where they put them.

And now that I can reliably trust Little Button not to eat toys, we can finally enjoy them! :)

You can't hear it, but she is beside herself with squeaks and giggles every time she picks them up and throws them back in the water.
This is like the most fun ever for her. :}

We are having a great time with these little guys.
They are adorable and affordable.
There is great variety, the detail for such a little toy is pretty nice and they are very easy to store due to their tiny size
I don't personally feel the need to collect any other ones, so this is enough for us (I got one pack for them and one pack for me..:}), but there are some REALLY cute ones in other packs that I noticed.  I am very tempted by a few of the Mini's and Littles as well.  Maybe someday I will treat myself to 1 or 2 of each, just to have a little collection going.
(Ugh, I swear, "collectoritis" is a real medical condition, lol. I have it for sure!)

Thanks for checking out my "tiny' review and I hope this Friday night finds you snug, happy and relaxed.  See you soon!

  1. These mini versions are cute, I like them better than the large dolls. In our local toy store the large size dolls stand on a high shelf, and I find them a bit overwhelming :-). Your little girl sure enjoyed herself, with the made-up game, that's great! Enjoy the weekend x

  3. Ah yes, "collectoritis" is definitely a condition. I have it too! ;-). I bought a 10 pack of these cute little things at Target a few months ago. You're right: they work super well for lalaloopsys for larger dolls, and also are just so cute! The mermaid in my pack was my favorite; she makes me smile. Of course, I have a thing for mermaids; I'm not really sure why I like to collect stuff with mermaids on it, but I just do. Maybe it's because I like the beach and ocean? I don't know. In any event, wonderful review, and I love your clear, interesting photography.

    Hugs,
    Jan
