Holiday Barbie 2008 - Happy Dolliday Countdown to Christmas!

We're back with another review and this one is for the STUNNING 2008 Holiday Barbie.  She's special because she marks the 20th anniversary of the Holiday Barbie line!

I was blown away by how gorgeous and well-made this one is.  I really love her. :)

This particular year, they also came out with the African American one with the Goddess face sculpt and she is just beautiful as well.

So taking a look at her full gown, she reminds me a little of a silver bell. They gown has such a unique design, from her stunning bodice to her multi-layered metallic silver ruffly skirt.

Her bodice has a beautiful snowflakes that overlay her satin, deep cut bodice.  I love the long sleeves and the dropped waist.

Her silver earrings are the longest ones we've seen and sparkle so nicely in the light!

She comes with painted red nails and a little bow tag around her wrist showing that she's the 20th anniversary celebration doll.

This is our 7th Mackie face in a row, but this one has side-glancing eyes.  She is also the first one we've seen with rooted lashes! Her eyes are a really pale violet/pinkish color and her lips are a dark shade of red.  The only odd part about her face are her slightly wavy eyebrows. Which you probably can't "unsee" now.  Sorry!

Overall, I think they did such a great job on this Barbie!  She looks and feels extra special as she should be knowing that we are celebrating 20 years of Holiday Barbies.  She is definitely one of my favorites so far. :)

Do any of you have her? Before I started collecting these more purposefully this year, I had never really seen her before!

xoxo Farrah

  1. This one is beautiful! I love the bodice part of her dress with the snowflake embroidery. It could also work as the top part of a wedding dress, specially for a winter bride. Her face is really pretty, I love the side glancing eyes. I'm not a huge fan of Barbie dolls with rooted lashes, I find them harder to photography, but it does work for this particular one.

    1. I thought the exact same thing about the wedding dress bodice. I would totally wear that if I were a winter bride!!

  2. I love these eyebrows too, and the seamless sleeves. Which of the holiday dolls did you have before you started completing the collection?

    1. Before I started actively trying to complete this, I had all of the newer ones going back to 2016 which I had gotten for Christmas each of those years. I also had 2015, 2007, 2001, 2000, and 1988-1991 which I bought used and out of the box. Then I found a bunch still in box for $5 each at a flea market last summer and then the rest I bought a few per month throughout 2021. :)
