Pumpkins and Jack-o-lanterns

The person that came up with carving faces out of a big orange squash was brillant.
It's such a funny thing we do when you think about it...
Here's a fun little link that talks a bit more about the history of Halloween and pumpkin carving :)

The girls were very much into pumpkin carving this Halloween.  Pumpkin Pie had her pumpkin face all planned out.  She had it carefully considered and sketched out on her paper before she got to work transcribing it to her pumpkin.  This was a big deal this year. ;}

:D

Little Button could've cared less about her pumpkin, but she did enjoy playing with the seeds, stirring them up and squishing them around in her hands...messy, slimy and fun.

Do you have any Halloween traditions that you celebrate in your home?

Happy Pumpkins warding off naughty spirits :)

Happy Halloween :)

  1. Pumpkin Pie's Pumpkin (say that 3 times fast!) is really cute. Did you roast your pumkin seeds? My kids love the roasted pumkin seeds we do at home. So much better that the store bought ones. Yum!

  2. Hi Phyllis! No we haven't roasted our seeds yet...they're still sitting in a bowl in the fridge, but I hope to do it this weekend. I agree that they are so delish when freshly roasted!
