Happy Belated Snowy Thanksgiving

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all of my fellow American readers. :)
This was the first year where we had Thanksgiving dinner at our house and it was so nice to be able to stay put, stay cozy and enjoy cooking a meal to share with our family.

My sister arrived (she lives 2 hours away) the day prior shortly before lunch and it was so nice to see her and have her stay with us for a few days. She is an amazing Auntie to the girls and they love her so much.  I still had to work, but she amused the girls, built forts, played dress up and did about a million dishes during her 3 night stay.   She is awesome!

Bottles of Chardonnay were cracked open pretty early on Thanksgiving Day.

Pumpkin Pie, such a doll, handing Mommy her wine.  ;)

Checking on the bird with Auntie.

 The next morning we headed outside for a snowy walk.  This was our first real snow of the season and Pumpkin Pie was all over it.  Total bliss for this kid.  Little Button was a little more unsure, but better than last year as she would at least walk in the snow by herself!  She just wouldn't keep her gloves on, little goon. :}

Happy snowy cows.

I have always loved the way snow looks all clumped up near running water. There is something so magic to me about the still perfection of the snow against the dark churning of water.  So beautiful!

Suddenly the sun started to poke it's way out through the clouds...

This Thanksgiving gave me another excuse to gush and appreciate of all of my blessings.   I'm learning each day to realize the beautiful simplicity my life has become.  Thank you for visiting the blog today :)

  2. It sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had turkey with all the trimmings, but I think this was the first year in a while that we did not have houseguests. It was so nice just spending it with my girls! They are growing up just too fast for me! I cherish all of the time I can spend with them!

    1. I'm so glad you had a nice holiday as well, Phyllis! Yes, this was the smallest get-together we've ever had..it was just the 4 of us, my sister, brother-in-law, mother-in-law and niece, but it was nice just the same. It must' havee been nice to have a relaxed time with just the girls..less pressure! Yes, it does seem like these kids just grow up so fast! xo
