Little Mini Kendra (Lori Dolls)

I'm finally getting around to sorting through the MANY doll photos I have taken over the years, and there are a lot that I never got around to sharing here on the blog.

I hope you don't mind seeing some older dolls here on the blog, as I enjoyed taking photos of them at the time and still wanted to share!

When the Lori dolls came out, we got really into them.
We have the Lori dollhouse (which is actually a huge hit with miniaturists in turns of customizing...check out @allieshouse on Instagram for a visual treat!)
Our Lori doll collection is probably around 10 or so mini dolls and each one is cuter than the next.

Kendra was the first one I bought and here are a few photos of her that I took outside by our creek a few summers ago.

If you're still in the dead of winter like I am, it's a real treat to see all of this green, lol.

She has the same cloth body torso as the mini American girls.

She came with an identical outfit as her 18 inch version did.

Her boots have some nice texture and molding.

I have since taken the ponytails out and boiled washed her hair so it lays straight.

Overall, she's an adorable little mini doll and she was really fun to photograph!
I think our 18 inch Kendra will soon be finding a new home as I really need to downsize my 18 inch dolls due to space, but mini Kendra will be here to stay!

Do you guys collect any mini dolls (aka 6 inches or smaller)?
I really like them as they are easy to store and are adorable!
Lori dolls still seem to be in Target as well as their accessories, but I haven't bought anything new in a few years.  The next time I'm in Target, though, I'll pay more attention to see what is new!

As always, hanks for stopping by and see you in the next post.

xoxo Farrah

  1. I've always loved Kendra's flaming hair. It's good to know that these are still being made. Good pictures, by the way; greenery is a treat indeed!

    1. Yes, her red hair was the reason I chose her as my (pretty much) only OG doll I had in my collection for a long time! Love the red hair and blue eye combo. :)

  2. Kendra is a sweetie. I love her red hair.

I think I have 12 dolls that are 18 inches. They are by different makers, only one is American Girl, Addy. I am not sure how they all got here. They would show up at my house one-by-one and ask politely to be taken in. Well, I just couldn't say no (chuckle).

I don't have any 6 inch dolls but I do have a ton of 8 inch Madame Alexander dolls.

    1. Yes, that's exactly how my 18 inch dolls found me too! :)
Those 8 inch MA dolls are really cute, too.
Dorothy, do you have a blog or take photos of your dolls? I would love to see your collection!

    2. I don't have a blog. I do take photos, not good ones, but I am happy to share. I don't have any social media accounts.
I can't remember if comments appear automatically or if you have to approve them so I won't place my email address here. I might be able to reach you through some other doll bloggers that I know.

  3. The LORI dolls are nice for the price, but I have enough mini AG dolls that I don't need any LORI ones. I think that the only dolls I have that are smaller are my Cu-Poche ones. I agree that mini dolls are great because they take up less space. They are also easier to set up detailed spaces for, both because they take up less room, and because props for them are easier to find.

    1. Hi Barb,
Yeah, I also have a bunch of the AG minis, which I love and have decided to only keep 4 of my Lori minis and donate the rest of ours, as we don't really need them all! Sometimes less is more. :) But I still can't part with any of my AG minis, haha.

  4. Such an adorable mini doll! Have not seen these over here, though.
I have some smaller dolls like L.O.L's and one LPS Blythe (those with the hair) and Lalaloopsy tinies.
And not to forget, a tiny KuuKuu Harajuku G doll.
They are easy to carry around and take some photos of, just like that! :)

    1. Oh yes, those mini Harajuku dolls were really cute! I love mini versions of thing, so it's hard not to want them all!
The LOL dolls are really cute though and we have those as well.
LPS Blythe are another cute one and I think we only have 1. I do have 1 more on my wish list though.
      :)

  5. I think these little dolls are really cute and as you say, great for storing and they make nice travel dolls too. The outfit is sweet and looks well detailed, as do those boots. It's nice to see the greenery although we do have a lot here, I just like seeing other peoples environments too :)

  6. Hello Farrah! I do like to see older dolls featured in blogs, I have even been considering doing that myself. Collecting isn't about getting the latest dolls, at least to me, even though I sometimes feel that the people that get the newest dolls first get the attention. Your photos look very pretty, did you take them in your backyard?

I don't collect mini dolls, I don't think Funko count as dolls, LOL. I used to really like LPS figures, but here they were quite expensive and I chose to invest that money in Monster High dolls.

Hope you have an amazing weekend.

    1. Yes, you should feature some older dolls, too! I agree. It's fun to collect dolls from any period of time and I also agree that the people that are the fasted to get their doll reviews up definitely get the most attention!
My weekend has been pretty fun so far and I hope yours is nice, too! :)

  7. Hi, Farrah! I'm new to your blog, but I love the mini dolls! Heck, I like all kinds of dolls, and my latest 18-inch obsession has gotten me into quite a lot of trouble, LOL! I did hear that Target was phasing out the Lori dolls to make room for more OG dolls, but I haven't seen THOSE minis in ages. I think the hunt for a treasured doll is the best part of collecting! I try not to pay retail for much of anything.

    1. Hi Beth! I'm so glad you found my blog and I'm glad there are still collectors out there reading them! Wow, I didn't know that about Lori being phased out. With COVID, I honestly haven't been to a Target since at least March, but I've been meaning to go soon to have a look around. I think the last time I was there, I really didn't see too many so you are probably right! Yes, hunting for doll treasures is such a fun hobby and I just heard that our local flea market will be opening back up next weekend. I'm sooo excited! :) Paying lower than retail is such a thrill! ;)
