In Store Report-Doll Hunting Video!

Hey everyone,
Hope you're all staying warm wherever you are..it's been freezing here!
So I've been inspired by the lovely Muff  from "Hey It's Muff" to have another go at a "toy-hunt" style video to show you all what dolls are on shelves here where I live.
It was my birthday on Monday so Little Button and I were out running "errands" aka going doll hunting on both Monday and Tuesday so we filmed a little bit along the way.

If you're interested, the video is below!

This is the first time that we've appeared in front of the camera and I was so shy to do this at first, but ended up having a good time by the end.

You will notice that Little Button was asking for a lot of things and in the end she ended up picking a cute little Trolls microphone on the first day as well as a Calico Critter Kangaroo family that was on sale at Toys R' Us the second day.  Spoiled!  But it was my birthday so I got both the girls a treat just because. :):)

I hope you enjoy!
xoxo Farrah

  3. WoW you did have a nice day (or two) shopping for toys! I was amazed at the prices in Walmart, it's been a long time since I shopped in the US and those toys are very very reasonably priced! I enjoyed the glimpse of the Journey Girls but didn't see Chevonne so am assuming she is not for sale these days....DOH!
The Disney girl you got at the end is gorgeous, I have only seen the Animator one at our local Disney store here in Malaga, but I wonder if they'll ever have this limited edition one.
Well I hope you had a great birthday, it looked like you were enjoying yourselves, and I'm glad that Little Button got something nice too.
    Hugs Sharon xx

    1. Thanks, Sharon! Yeah, I think we are a little spoiled by our prices here and sometimes don't realize how lucky we have it. Actually, Chevonne the JG doll was there, she was the last one I focused on and you may not have recognized her because they changed her hair! It used to be more texted and shorter, but now they gave her longer, silkier hair and I'm not sure why. I miss the old style and I'm kind of sad I didn't grab one before.
Thank you for the birthday wishes! :) xo

    2. Oh I did see that dark skinned girl and didn't realise it was Chevonne! What a shame on the hair, I thought the curls were really pretty, but maybe they were too hard for a child to manage and got messy quickly. I have a very curly haired Bonnie & Pearl doll and she is a 'play doll' and often I've thought that her hair would be a nightmare for kids!

    3. I was thinking the same about the manageability of the hair, but I don't really know why they changed it! I just found out about Bonnie & Pearl dolls...they have very expressive faces! Gorgeous dolls. :)

  4. Hi Farrah, Happy Birthday!
This video is so precious. I love how excited you are seeing the toys. (I have exactly the same reactions!) My kids are older and don't really want to go up and down the toy aisles anymore. They do come with me, but they are the ones telling me "not today Mum, maybe next time, or when you save up some money."
(Kids should be banned from growing up!)

    1. Aww, I know, I will be so sad when my kids leave this "toy loving" stage. It really is cute! Maybe your kids will love toys again when they are older, just like you! :)

  6. I'd like to suggest that you slow the camera down a little when scanning the shelves. It made me a little motion sick, as videos are starting to do when the movement is too fast. :(

    1. Hi Barb,
Yes, I totally agree. When I re-watched it I felt a little the same. I definitely moved too fast and when I had watched it on full screen it was making me feel sick! I will slow it down for next time for sure and avoid the fast movements. Sorry it made you motion sick and thank you for your feedback.

  7. My favorite part was seeing Little Button and hearing all of her comments! She is so adorable (and you are too!). It made me miss the days when my girls were small and they got so excited about toy shopping. We had so much fun! When we do go shopping now, my girls do indulge me and we also got to at least see what is new in the toy isles. I haven't been to Walmart or TRU in such a long time. We mainly go to Target, but I do shop online quite a bit!

Oh, and a belated Happy Birthday to you!

    1. Thank you, Phyllis! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I can't totally see how I will miss these little toy hunts and excitement with the girls. This is such a precious time and I will be so sad when they grow out of it, but that is life. That's so nice that the girls still go into the doll isles with you. I know what you mean about TRU..I hadn't been there since the summer! Don't even get me started with Target. I'm glad it's a bit far away as I could easily spend so much money there! :)
Thanks again for the birthday wishes!
