Hey there fellow doll collectors. :)
Isn't it so nice to have this blogging world to connect with like-minded people?
I don't know about you guys, but I have NO ONE in my personal life that is a fellow doll collector. One of my brothers collects other things like DVDs and Star Wars stuff so at least I have him to talk about collecting and he totally "gets it."
My blog is completely anonymous and no one besides my immediate family knows I do this.
I guess, since it's new to me, I am still fairly shy about it.
But it's so fun. :)
It's such a creative outlet for me and I really enjoy writing and sharing the dolls I collect with you all as well as reading your blogs to see what's going on in your doll world.
So I wanted to share a couple of updates regarding some new things I have added and will be adding as soon as I can figure it out!
A few months ago, I started an Instagram account with doll photography only, and if you have Instagram and are interested in that sort of thing, my user name is @farrahli :)
It's mostly photos of Monster High, Ever After High, Disney Dolls, American Girl, Barbie and My Little Pony. Some are photos from the blog and others are just ones I take out and about.
I hope to eventually do an "About Me" page to share a little bit more about who I am personally as well as a "Doll Collection" page which has links to each of the dolls I've reviewed or photographed.
I also recently started a YouTube Channel and my subscriber name is the same as the one on my blog here: Farrah Lily.
I only have a couple of videos posted, but I will mostly be doing doll reviews, doll hunts, and any doll makeovers I can squeeze into the day.
I have 3 subscribers already! Whoo hoo! ;)
Here are some photos and the video of my doll hunt.
I was pretty nervous for some reason and even though no one was around, I was very quiet in the beginning. :) I don't know why I care...I need to get over that!
It's amazing to see YouTubers like Chad Alan and Mommy and Gracie who are so comfortable filming in public and probably so used to it they just go for it!
Even though it's a few months old, most of the dolls are still the same ones as the ones that are currently in my local Walmart and Target.
Stay tuned until the end to see what I got! ;)
I also wanted to say thank you so much for the 25 subscribers I already have here on this blog. I'm so touched that you guys are reading my posts and leaving such sweet comments and I am so appreciative of you all! :)

Here are a few of the dolls/toys that caught my eye in Walmart.
This is the first version of Cinderella I've seen in her pink dress.
The hair isn't movie accurate, but the dress is really cute!
Disney Princess Palace Pets
Live-action Cinderella dolls by Mattel.
My Little Pony Equestria Girls
Fluttershy was my favorite!
Ever After High Into the Woods Poppy O'Hair
Ever After High Getting Fairest Apple White
Ever After High Getting Fairest Briar Beauty
Ever After High Mirror Beach Apple White
Monster High Haunted Draculaura
Moving on to Target, here are a few more dolls and things that caught my eye.
Sheriff Callie costume.
I thought this was ADORABLE. :)
I adore the Mooshka line of dolls and thought these mini fairy tale friends were really cute.
I've had my eye on this fox one, but she wasn't in stock.
Cinderella's wedding dress costume.
Cinderella's blue ball gown costume.
Monster High Gloom and Bloom Cleo de Nile
A couple of cute little seasonal Chelseas :)
Nurse Barbie.
I almost grabbed her as I am a nurse as well :)
They still had a few of the Hearts for Hearts dolls.
These were my two favorite Our Generation Dolls.
I also wanted to say thank you so much for the 25 subscribers I already have here on this blog. I'm so touched that you guys are reading my posts and leaving such sweet comments and I am so appreciative of you all! :)
WOW! Great stuff! I am just the opposite. I am such a fanatic I must have blabbed to everyone I know about my hobby. Now, in my small town area, I am known as the dollhouse lady. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love that you are a fanatic, grandmommy!! That is so great. :) I hope to be like that someday-without a care what anyone thinks!
DeleteI know exactly what you mean! I am fairly new to this doll collecting stuff and only my closest family and friends are aware of my hobby. I recently started a YouTube channel too and filming my first doll review was definitely both terrifying and exciting experience ;) I've just subscribed to your channel so now you have 4 subscribers, yay! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear you're not alone, isn't it?? :) Thank you for subscribing!! What is your YouTube channel name as I would love to support you as well!
DeleteYeah, exactly! :) My YouTube channel is "Margaret Ann's Dolls" https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpfndbjHB0sOxfTPoJ2_89g Thank you! I am going to post my next doll review this weekend :)
DeleteAwesome, I will check it out! :)
DeleteHi Farrah, your blog is really nice, and yes it isn't easy to share this passion, and blogging is a great way to reach people with same interests.
ReplyDeleteI really like the live action Cinderella dolls, it's just I don't have any room left!!!
Thanks Billa, I really enjoy your blog as well. :) I feel the same way about not having much room left. It's amazing how quickly a collection can grow and I think I need to weed out some dolls soon!
DeleteSounds like you had fun doing your first doll hunt video. :-) Love the dolls you chose, will look forward to their reviews.
ReplyDeleteHi Serenata, thanks so much for checking out the video. It was pretty fun, actually to really look the through the dolls at the store and treat myself to some. :) I'm also looking forward to your blog and more Scooby Doo stories!
DeleteYou are so brave! I applaud you on doing your video on YouTube! You made some nice purchases. I don't mind telling people about my doll collecting, but I am still not brave enough to photograph in public. I just subscribed and can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Phyllis! I am the same way about photographing in public. It's really silly that we should care, but I must admit...having daughters makes it easier in the sense that I feel more comfortable when they are around as I can use them as "my excuse." ;)
DeleteI don't just collect dolls, I LARP (live action role play) with them! I love dressing them up in cute outfits and playing with them! I am very proud of you! I don't know many adults who collect dolls. My older sis (She is 13) she isn't that old and she doesn't play dolls with me so I play by my self a lot. And I think it is cool that you play dolls!
ReplyDeleteHi Halo! Thank you so much for your sweet comments, you are so nice to say that. I think if you really love dolls, it never really goes away, but for some it does for a little while and then comes back once you have your own kids. I just checked out your blog as well and it's great!! :)
DeleteGlad to hear that you are having so much fun! None of my friends are doll collectors either, thank heavens my sister likes American Girl too. I couldn't help but think that some of those smaller items you found would make great "toys" for AG dolls!
ReplyDeleteHi Flo, yes, you're right, there are a lot of cute items out there that would make great toys and props for AG dolls. I know you have a really good eye for that and I always love seeing what you come up with on your blog!
DeleteI totally get ya! None of my friends collect toys or dolls but some of them like star wars are superheroes so I'm able to having a few 'geeky' conversations once in a while! ^.^ Also looks like you had so much fun on your doll hunt! When i set up an Instagram I would love to follow you =)
ReplyDelete-Lydia
Thanks, Lydia! And I'll follow you right back. :) Yes, it's great to have those "geeky" conversations, I agree, and I think as we all continue to blog, we'll find more and more people that like to talk about dolls! :)
DeleteThanks for following me and checking out my blog!
ReplyDeleteRight back 'atcha :)
DeleteIt must be so nice to see all these dolls in the flesh in local shops, even our Toys R Us here has limited numbers of dolls.....even if they're not dolls I might buy, I'd still love to see them all there!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! :)
Hugs Sharon in Spain x
I hear you, Sharon! It's nice just to look, pick up and hold. I often find that I don't really end up liking some of the dolls that I originally had on my wish list after seeing them in person, while there are other ones that I never originally thought I'd want, but ended up wanting. Sometimes I forgot to realize that other countries may not have such a giant surplus of all of these lines that we do here. Time for a trip to The States, Sharon!! ;) xo
DeleteWould you believe that before we moved to Spain in 2004, we used to holiday in the US 3 or 4 times a year? And I wasn't into dolls back then!!!! LOL...typical eh? But I was into dollshouses so I did manage to get a lot of things for my dollshouse back then! One day, when I spend less money on dolls, I might go back again :)
Deletexxx
