Februrary, the Snowiest Month of Winter

Ah, February...you short, weird little month.  Every year it seems like I blink and February is over.
Which is fine by me as I am always looking forward to the next summer season where ever I am within the year!

This year, Feb started out really mild with this one day in particular being absolutely gorgeous and warm.

Where did all of these birds come from all the sudden?

Winter campfires are the best.  Sticky s'mores and marshmellows stuck in hair...just so good.

Calves are evverywhere!  They are so cute and inquisitive and not yet afraid.  I just love them.

I really can't complain, though, because this winter has been amazingly mild compared to every other winter in my whole life, lol.  The snow in the pictures here are pretty much the only snowstorm we've gotten.

These two couldn't of been happier. :)

Today is my birthday and although we had a really low-key, quiet day, I had so much happiness in my heart as I reflected on all of the amazing blessings that are in my life.  I may have more gray hair, a lot more "smile lines" around my eyes and a little less energy, I feel like I have so much more self-worth and balance then I have ever had  and I'll trade that over pretty much anything!  Hopefully in another 10 years it will be even more!  It's good to get old.

I hope you all had a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead.  xo!!

  1. Ah Farrah, you are so right! I too am enjoying this part of life, when all the big worries are over. Just hope we continue enjoying good health. :)
Lovely photos of the children and the snow (even though it ends up as slush) it looks so pretty when it's fresh on the ground.
Happy, Happy Birthday and lots of wishes for many more.
    Hugs,
    X

    1. Thank you! :) I know, as soon as it snowed, I ran out to take photos before it became mixed with the mud, lol. Cheers to good health :) xo

  2. Hello Farrah Lily,
Happy birthday! I wish you a wonderful day and great presents! I am a city boy...being in the country does not sit well with me...but I must admit your gorgeous pictures make it look very attractive. Speaking of, your girls are adorable!
    Big hug

    1. Hi Giac,
Thank you! Your comment about being a city boy made me giggle. I had a roommate in college who was from Long Island and she was terrified to ride in the car at night where there weren't any street lights illuminating the road. I love the country, but at times miss the convenience, excitement and opportunities being closer to a city has. Hopefully I can find somewhere some day that has a mixture of both. :)
      Big hugs back :)

    1. Thanks so much, jSarie! :) They were so happy to see the snow. My older one is pretty PO'd that there hasn't been one single snow day all year though, lol. :)

  4. I agree, I am always glad to see the end of February. I guess because we know that better weather isn't too far off, especially for those of us in the Northeast.

    1. Totally, Flo...I am usually pretty good until I get to March. Then I get really antsy as I see everyone else sporting green grass and new blooms. It seems like it takes forever to happen here!

    1. Hi Sharon,
Thank you for the birthday wishes! As for "maturing"..I figure it's best not to fight it and just be glad I'm alive in the first place, lol. I like the wine reference! Oh the girls love their patterns and polkadots, that's for sure. I hope you are able to try a S'more some day...they are so delicious!
      :)

  6. Winter got off to a late start this year. We have had more snow in February and March than we did earlier in Winter! Although this has been a mild winter in Michigan too, We have had 3 snow storms in the past 2 weeks which gave the kids snow days off from school! They were so happy about that! Today it is 60 degrees out so I hope this means that winter is over! Your little girls are so cute! I always love seeing pictures of them.

    1. Hi Phyllis,
That's too funny about the snow. Crazy isn't it? I'm glad the kids finally got a snow day! It was pretty nice here as well. Not quite 60s, but on Wednesday I believe it will be in the high 60s. Yay! :) Thanks for your sweet comments about the girls. :)
