Thanks to everyone for the sweet "cough-go-away" wishes on my last post! I still have the cough and it's still irritating, but I am feeling better. :)
I was nominated by the Lovely Flo at "Say Hello To My Little Friends" (I smile every time I read her blog title) for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. I love Q & A posts!
Thanks Flo!
Here are her 10 questions....
1) Besides blogging, what other things do you like to do on the internet?
-Well, a lot, unfortunately! I love Instagram (both my personal and blog ones) as well as Facebook (although I'm getting much better with not being on it as much) and I do a lot of photo editing for both the blog and my personal photography. I also love Pinterest and YouTube. I usually have the iPad on Netflix next to me when I'm on my desktop working on the blog. Double-tasking!
2) Why did you start a doll blog?
-I was really inspired by Emily's blog "The Toy Box Philosopher and Hannah's blog "Never Grow Up." Their blogs were the first doll blogs I ever came across and I just fell in love. I loved the idea of doing doll reviews and as I kept reading, I realized there was a community of people who loved collecting, photographing, sewing and sharing their dolls with everyone else! My favorite aspect of doll blogging is photography and I really felt inspired to share my doll photos with you all. :)
3) What doll don’t you have that you would most like to have?
-There are SO MANY. I'd have to say though, right now, I'm in love with Tonner's Spring Flowers.
4) Your favorite American Girl doll accessory?
-I honestly don't own any AG doll accessories. Since I'm relatively new to collecting, my focus has been more on actual dolls. My favorite accessories that they make would have to be their beautiful doll beds. I am contemplating picking up Caroline's before it is archived! I really love the historical beds and most specifically Addy's, Caroline's and Josefina's.
5) Your favorite Non-American Girl doll accessory?
-Again, I don't really own any doll accessories, but my favorite Non-AG accessory I've seen is probably the Our Generation Retro Diner. LOVE!
6) Do you play any instruments and if so, what?
-I grew up playing the clarinet in school and in high school/college I played a lot of acoustic guitar and now I mostly play the ukulele. :)
7) Favorite type of music to listen to?
-My tastes have changed so much over the years. Right now I love folk-rock (like Mumford and Sons, Lumineers, Monsters of Men) but I love, love, love most all music and especially acoustic and live performances. I admit, I also really love Taylor Swift. :)
8) Tea or Coffee?
-Coffee all year round and tea in the winter!
9) Favorite Movie?
-Amelie
10) If money were no object, where would you most like to travel to?
-Every country. :) If I had to pick one, though I'd want to take my time and travel all through Australia.
Thanks for reading everyone!
The rest of the award asks you to nominate 5 more people. It says 10, but I am sure there will be many "repeat nominations" so just keeping it to 5. :)
I nominate:
Halo (from Lovin Dolls)
Lisa (from The One Sixth Scale Dollhouse)
Polka Dot Bee (from Seven Bloggers and their Dolls)
Linda (from Darkroom Dolls)
Serenata (from How Many Dolls)
My questions for you are:
1) Do you collect anything other than dolls?
2) Why did you start a doll blog?
3) What doll line is your favorite to collect?
4) Your favorite American Girl doll accessory?
5) If you could have any "career" what would it be?
6) Do you play any instruments and if so, what?
7) Where is your most favorite place you've ever been?
8) What is your most favorite thing about yourself?
9) Favorite Movie?
10) If money were no object, where would you most like to travel to?
Have fun! I can't wait to read your answers. :)

Hello Farrah Lily,
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to get to know you. I hope everything you wish for comes your way. I'm glad you're feeling better.
Big hug,
Giac
Oh Giac, you are too kind, thank you :)
DeleteFun! I always love it when a new question-based meme or award goes around - it's always fun to see the people behind the doll collections! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, jSarie! :)
DeleteIt was fun to read your answers! I so hope you will get the Spring Flowers (I LOVE this range!) ànd the diner, that is so awesome :-)!. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for nominating me :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteShe's on my wishlist for sure!! I think I will sell a few things so I can justify buying her. ;) You're welcome, and I can't wait to read your answers as well!
DeleteLoved reading your answers! I hope your cough goes away soon. I had a terrible one around the beginning of the year. It lasted for so long, that I didn't realize it had finally gone away until one day it was one of those "a-hah!" moments. We have a lot of tree pollen in the air here at the moment and it has me sneezing and coughing, it's the pits.
ReplyDeleteLol, yes, the cough just becomes a part of you doesn't it! My daughter had it first and it seriously must've lasted at least 3 weeks. They one day it seemed to be gone! I'm sorry to hear of your allergies, that really is no fun at all. The next time I have another coughing fit I'll think of you! ;)
DeleteIt's always great to read more about people than their blogs would normally reveal!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing! :)
Hugs Sharon in Spain x
Thanks so much, Sharon! :)
DeleteHugs right back xo
OMG THANKS SO MUCH FOR NOMINATING ME!!
ReplyDeleteNo problem, Halo!! :) Thanks for always stopping by and leaving such nice comments. :)
DeleteThank you for the nomination - I don't usually do these, but it has been a very long time since anyone has asked me to, and I have been a bit 'stuck' with my blogging recently so it should be fun. :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely to read a little more about you - and hearing that you have played clarinet.
Oh good, I'm so glad you've decided to answer. It's always so nice to see a more personal side of everyone. Yes, the clarinet. I really should get that back out and play again. I used to really love playing in a band.
DeleteMaybe when the kids are older and I have time for hobbies again I will join our town's local band. :)
It's always nice to read the answers to these posts and get to know more about people. And it's nice to hear you would like to visit Australia - it is a great place. I hope your cough disappears soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrickters! I lived in Australia for a semester in college- (I attended James Cook Uni in Cairns) and just loved it so much. I really felt connected there and had plans to move back there and work as a nurse, but it didn't work out (I met my husband, lol.) I haven't been back since, but it is definitely one of my favorite places in the world and I would love to see the rest of the country. :)
DeleteSo glad you are feeling better. I really enjoyed learning more about you. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Brini. :) xoxo
DeleteI just found your blog! I love it, I am a kindred spirit, my daughter is outgrowing her dolls, but I'm not! I am glad to find so many adult collectors. Oh and congrats on your award!
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda (and Sophie!)
DeleteI'm so glad you found the blog. It's so nice to find kindred spirits to share this doll love, isn't it? :)
