I'm Still Here! Happy Holidays! :)

Hi everyone!
I know it's been a while since I posted here on the blog and I just wanted to say thank you to a few of you that reached out to me to make sure I was still doing ok. :)  That was so thoughtful of you and I really appreciate it!

I'm definitely still here, I've just been so busy with life lately that it has left little to no time for dolls and miniatures.  I still love them, but other priorities have taken over and this hobby has sort of had to take a seat on the back burner.

That being said, I think the other thing that had taken priority over my blog these past few years was my YouTube channel.  I had been posting on that more often than the blog, but I've decided to let that go.  I'm not going to even bother to get into the new laws that are going to start as of January 1st that will affect all the doll/toy channels because that's a whole story to itself!

I really want to get back into the blog world as I've had so much more fun interacting with all of you and sharing this hobby.  My focus in the past few months has been more on crafting as opposed to buying dolls and I am so happy about that!!

Until next time, here are some photos of all the snow we've gotten so far this winter.
We ended up having a white Christmas, but the snow is melting pretty fast at this point, but more snow/freezing rain in the forecast for tonight!

Little Button enjoying the snow bank :)

I hope you're all doing well and are having a wonderful Holiday season!
Christmas crept right up on me this year, and now that it's over I feel like I can finally relax and actually enjoy the essence of the holiday that I felt too busy to enjoy before. :)
I personally LOVE Christmas and try to keep enjoying it for as long as I can (without seeming like a crazy person) as it helps me get through this cold and dark part of the year.
I'm hoping to do a quick post of my Christmas doll related goodies, my recent trip to NYC and the American Girl store as well as some goals and plans for the New Year.
I'll see you in the next post!

Best wishes to you all.

xoxo
Farrah

  1. Welcome back! I've missed you!
I love to hear that you've been crafting and I hope you will show us some of your creations. I definitely want to focus more on crafting and other creative things in future blog posts. Your photos look beautiful, like those postcards you can buy. I've always wanted to have a white Christmas, but here we don't really have snow.

I'm doing my final exams in mid January, so I hope I can come back to the blog by then. I'm also moving home, so I don't really now how much spare time will I have.

Hope you're doing well. Take care.

    1. Hi MC, thanks! Yes, here in Upstate NY we definitely experience all 4 seasons (although Spring is more line Winter-Spring, lol) and I'm glad you liked the photos! I agree, about crafting...it's nice to stop buying so many dolls that I never do anything with and instead actually make things and "play" with the ones I have. I'll be going through my dolls this winter to try to "thin the herd!" Best of luck on your upcoming exams and I'm hoping you have more spare time coming up!
      Take care!

  2. So lovely to see a post of yours come up in my reading list. Snow always looks so beautiful, even the reality of it can be quite different, but it is certainly magical to have a white Christmas. all the best for the New Year.

  3. What a beautiful part of the country you live in! It does look similar to parts of Ohio, as much of Ohio is still devoted to farming. We haven't gotten a lot of snow this year, but we certainly have in years past!

Yeah, the first thing I thought of when I saw the rationale for YouTube's new laws was: so *your company* messed up, and you're punishing your content providers for it. I have one word for YouTube: MySpace.

Many Christian denominations celebrate Christmas through January 6th (12 days of Christmas), if that helps. :) I'm relying heavily on my light box as well to help me through the winter.

    1. Thanks Barb! Yeah, I'm in Upstate NY so I'd say very similiar to Ohio's climate. I'm in a small farming town. :)
I totally agree with you about Youtube. They are completely at fault, but it's the content creators are paying the price. I feel so bad for the families that rely on that ad revenue as their jobs.
Haha, I did know that about 1/6 so I feel good about that! I've always thought about trying a light box. Do you feel like it makes a pretty good difference?

  4. Farrah it is so nice hearing from you once again. Last night I mentioned to Marilyn that we haven't received a blog post from you in such a long time. It is raining today and we only have had two light coverings of snow. We are happy since shoveling is not on our favorite list of things to do. I always enjoy your news about your dolls. Will be watching for your post on your dollie goodies for Christmas.
    HAPPY,HEALTHY and A BLESSED 2020.

    1. I hope you have a wonderful New Year, Marion! I agree, shoveling is NO FUN. I am lucky that I rarely have to do it! Did you get any fun dolls for Christmas this year?

  5. Hi Farrah Glad to see you back You have been missed. Your blog concerning your dolls is always a treat to read. I want to learn to sew. My twin sister Marion bought me a child's sewing machine with doll clothes to make. This will be a tiny step on my road to learning to sew. I have joined a few doll sewing groups on Facebook. Looking forward to your future posts. Blessings to you and yours in 2020.
