American Girl Mini Caroline

Back in 2015, I started my American Girl doll collection.  One of the first mini dolls I bought, was this tiny little Caroline.  I've had these photos of her on my computer for ages and a post sitting in draft form for just as long, so here we go.  Getting things done!  Whoo hoo! :)

This Caroline was from the "older style" mini dolls that came with a rounder face and cloth body.
Caroline has since been retired, but I always really liked her long, curly blonde hair and striking aqua colored eyes.

These mini dolls stand at about 6 inches tall, making them tiny compared to their 18-inch counterparts. Despite their small size, I really think American Girl did such a great job in replicating their outfits.  (Look at that embroidery on her dress!)

Here's what her body looks like underneath and she's an exact mini-version of the regular doll. I love miniatures of miniatures, so I really appreciate this detail!

Caroline's hair is a little unruly and "Hermoine"ish, but I'm sure it can be fixed.  To be honest, as these dolls still get routinely played with by my 6 year old, it's still pointless to "fix" her hair up. :)

Here's just a few fun photos I took of her when I was out and about on a walk.
Taking photos of dolls always makes me love them even more!

She's cutie and a keeper for sure.
I know a lot of you collect the 18 inch playscale line, but do you also collect any of the mini-dolls?
There are still a few on my list I hope to add some day such as Rebecca and Addy (old versions), and Nanea, Gabriella, Kirsten, and Molly (new ones.)
Their just so cute and easy to store!

Hoping to catch up on all of your posts as well.  Even though I haven't been quite as active on here, I am still very much into dolls and collecting.  I have so much to share, but sometimes struggle with organizing what I want to do first. :)

Otherwise, hope you're all doing well and "see you" in the next post!

xoxo Farrah

  3. I have a lot of mini dolls. I see them as an extension of my 18 inch collection, not as a seperate collection.

    1. Yes, they really do belong with the lovely 18 inch dolls, I agree. They are so well made.

  4. Let's see. I have mini Samantha, Caroline, Kirsten, Felicity, Emily, Marie Grace, Cecile, Ruth and Josefina. I think that's all of them! They are all the older version, which I prefer over the new one. I think part of that is because the body is the same as the 18" version, but also because that stuffed body is unique from other mini dolls with basic plastic bodies. I'm sure that Caroline enjoyed getting outside for pictures. :)

    1. Wow, great collection! I didn't know Emily had her own mini..that's pretty cool that they also made the friends. I also prefer the older ones! They are really adorable. Caroline is begging me to get back outside again as those photos were probably taken in 2016, lol. :)

    2. I realized after I left this comment that I really meant Elizabeth. Of course, she's also a friend, so there's that. There might have been an Emily doll. I know that there was a Nellie doll.

  6. These are cute little miniatures, aren't they! I like these tiny dolls but don't have any of them, and only have the one big AG too. I do love small dolls though, and have several here, but they are all resin bjds in this size. Ohh actually no, I lie, I do have a small miniature Mariquita Perez, she's a replica of the bigger 18+ inches girls....of which I have two, and they are replicas of the original antique ones! She's a funny little thing, I'll have to photograph her sometime soon.
I am with you on photographing dolls, I also love dolls more when I'm looking at their photos after I've photographed them....in fact sometimes I love the photos more than the doll itself!! LOL

    1. Same here, Sharon! LOL. I think different lighting, backgrounds (and in your case your wonderful outfits that you create) can really bring them to life! I'd love to see your mini dolls sometime when you feel inspired to photograph them! :)

  7. She's really sweet and has a lovely dress! I agree the minis are great because they don't take up as much space and are just as cute :)

  8. You don't happen to play Love Nikki, do you? I saw somebody on there named Farrah Lily, which isn't exactly a common name.

  9. Hi Farrah,
I didn't realise these dolls came in mini size, she's lovely and her face is beautiful, even nicer than the larger dolls. I really enjoy dolls this size, they fit in my hands really well and take up less room to display.

    Hugs,
    X

    1. I totally agree, much easier to manage and just as (if not more) cuter than the bigger ones!
